Thematic maps display specific information for a region or location. Thematic maps can be used to show a range of information by making clear distinctive differences, like color coordinating regions, to show the differences in the various locations. In this thematic map, one is able to see the various soil moisture content of different locations in the continental US. The color coded regions shows the viewer what locations have wetter/drier soils than others.
